Camden Rocks festival returns…
CAMDEN ROCKS FESTIVAL returns to NW1 for the second time with over 100 bands playing across 12 venues in the capital’s home of rock and roll. On Saturday 1st June some of the finest bands from all over the country will converge on the North London borough to bring the biggest party of the summer to the best venues around. Showcasing new and established artists alike, the city festival is sure to bring the best party to the most famous music spot in London.
Irish heroes Therapy? play a special one-off show; London faves The Rifles return, taking a break from recording their fourth album; The YoYo’s return for one night only; on the back of their excellently received debut album ‘Ideas’. Hawkeyes make an appearance; mixing rock & roll, psychedelia, heavy metal, punk rock and electronica, Bristol’s Turbowolf come to the party; other performers include Charlie Simpson, Glen Matlock, Belakiss and Carl Barat returns to the festival with a DJ set – these are just a few of the amazing names performing in special intimate venues in Camden. More names will be added.
The first Camden Rocks happened in 2009 when the likes of Pete Doherty, Carl Barat, Ginger, Young Guns and Sonic Boom Six (amongst many others), and after taking a break for a few years promoter Chris McCormack has returned this year after being overwhelmed by the amazing new talent coming through as his weekly clubs Jubilee & White Noise. McCormack stated “I’ve been working with so many great bands over the past couple of years. There’s a serious amount of exciting guitar bands out there at the moment, the festival is a great way to showcase new talent and also include some more established bands to make for a great day out”
Tickets are on sale now at the recession busting price of just £20.
